This little parable is written about 2 little people named Hem and Haw who find themselves in a mouse maze. At first Hem and Haw dwell close to a large pile of cheese they find in the maze but soon find that the cheese is diminishing and change is necessary if they are going to survive. The way Hem and Haw react to this shows us how we all react to change. Haw writes these words as he ventures off to find new cheese. Dr. Johnson calls it “The Handwriting On The Wall”
1. Change Happens: They Keep Moving The Cheese
2. Anticipate Change: Get Ready For The Cheese To Move
3. Monitor Change: Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old ( My Favorite)
4. Adapt To Change Quickly: The Quicker You Let Go Of Old Cheese, The Sooner You Can Enjoy New Cheese
5. Change: Move WIth The Cheese
6. Enjoy Change: Savor The Adventure and The Taste of New Cheese
7. Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It Again and Again: They Will Keep Moving The Cheese
The way people respond to change will affect how you are able to lead them. Teach them to be ready for change because the cheese is going to move
